Suburban Extended Stay in Clarksville, IN, is a Choice brand hotel and has an excellent opportunity available for the right individual who thrives on achieving personal success, motivating and engaging team members and ensuring guests have a quality experience. This position reports to a Regional Manager who is committed to mentoring and challenging the individual to be ready for career growth. Basic duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Drive revenue and profits with a goal to meet and/or exceed budget expectations while maintaining operational and guest service standards

· Collaborate with the Revenue and Sales Team to identify and follow up on potential sales leads and sustain/retain core business accounts

· Review monthly revenue and expenses and provide variance reports explaining differences

· Coach, mentor and lead a staff of approximately 8-12 team members in the positions of front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance functions to ensure member productivity resulting in a clean and safe environment

· Continually assess and apply creative problem-solving skills to resolve guest concerns within brand and company policies and procedures 

· Continually monitor and inspect property to meet or exceed established Quality Assurance Review (QAR) scores 

· Collaborate with Corporate Human Resources to interview and hire team members and ensure proper new hire onboarding and job specific training is completed, as well as manage team member performance, implement company policies and procedures and approve time sheets

· Ensure the safety of team members, guests and the property with a thorough understanding of safety and security policies and procedures.

· Ensure team members are trained on effective and proper administration of hotel key control and cash control procedures

Job Requirements


Education and Experience

A Bachelor’s degree with at least one-year of experience in hotel management (front desk, assistant general manager, operations manager or back house operation) is preferred; applicable experience is acceptable in lieu of degree. 

Other qualifications include strong communication skills, possess a valid driver’s license and be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.

His role at HMS is to focus on revenue growth in the existing portfolio of hotels and growth of the company's management services. Byron is a native of Alabama, most recently living in Virginia.
Philip CoxDeveloperWith over 15 years experience in commercial real estate sales and development, Philip Cox acts as both a development partner with Mitch Cox Companies and Hotel Management Services, Inc. (HMS). He is a graduate of Southern Methodist University holding a BBA in Real Estate Finance. He also holds real estate licenses in Texas and Tennessee. Before coming to Mitch Cox Companies, Philip was a successful commercial real estate broker in Dallas, TX with the firm Marcus and Millichap where he transacted over 23 million dollars in sales of office and retail in just two years. During the last five years, Philip has developed retail, self-storage, and hotel projects for Mitch Cox Companies. Now, he focuses primarily on driving growth and acquisitions for the HMS portfolio. Philip is highly involved in the Johnson City community. He has been a board member of The United Way of Washington County, The Boy Scouts Sequoyah Council, and Good Samaritan Ministries where he served as President. He also serves on the Johnson City Development Authority as well as the Johnson City Community Development Authority.
Tracy FleenorChief Financial OfficerTracy has served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Mitch Cox Companies since 1992. Currently, she serves as both the COO of Mitch Cox Companies and manager of Mitch Cox Construction, Inc. Before she joined with Mitch Cox, Tracy worked as an internal auditor, a compliance officer, and the CFO of a mortgage and financial services company. Tracy holds a Master’s Degree in Accounting from East Tennessee State University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Weber State University. Tracy lives in East Tennessee with her children.
Kathy MaileVP of Strategic Development and Asset ManagementMaile joined HMS in January of 2014, three years after the firm’s founding in 2011. When she started, the company had 10 hotels under management. Under her leadership as the Senior Vice President of Operations, the HMS portfolio more than doubled to 22 properties in seven states. Maile transitioned into the role of Vice President of Strategic Development and Asset Management in 2019, where she leverages over 30 years of hotel management experience to continually refine the focus and strategy of HMS. In addition to her wealth of hotel management knowledge, Kathy is also a certified executive and corporate coach. Kathy and her husband Joe reside in Johnson City, TN.
Terri DombkowskiVP of OperationsSince joining Hotel Management Services, Inc. in January 2017, Terri has led the operations group first as Regional Director of Operations and currently as Vice President of Operations. Terri has over 30 years of experience in the Hospitality Industry working with major hospitality companies such as Red Roof Inns, Motel 6, Hilton, and Extended Stay America. A native of Columbus, Ohio, Terri currently lives in Frederick, Maryland.
Joe MaileDirector of Risk ManagementSince joining the company in 2016, Joe has provided HMS with inclusive compliance consultation services. Joe has over 20 years of experience in providing supply chain and risk management analysis for numerous major corporations.
